Towards: Traces of Becoming Fashion Installation

Toward: Traces of Becoming brings together the work of three graduate fashion designers—Adilah M, Alexandria Richardson, and Xiaoyu Yan—for an installation exploring the research, experimentation, and discoveries that shape their creative practices. Rather than focusing solely on finished garments, the installation offers audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making process. Through garments, material studies, sketches, prototypes, research, and process documentation, the designers reveal the ideas and investigations that exist before, between, and beyond a final outcome. The installation considers fashion not simply as a finished product, but as an evolving form of inquiry. Research becomes material, experimentation becomes knowledge, and unexpected discoveries become part of the work's development.

Presented at Starling by Duo, Toward: Traces of Becoming invites visitors to slow down and engage with the traces left behind as an idea moves toward becoming something tangible.
